AAF Student Spotlight
"As a college student, it's easy to be unsure if your major is truly the right fit for you. I've been studying Communications and advertising for the past three and a half years and finally feel certain about this career path. The
AAF has done so much to help this surety come about. Last fall during my junior year, I was a recipient of one of the AAF Chattanooga's student scholarships, which was hugely beneficial. Not only did it help me financially, but it also gave me confidence that I was actually talented in this field! Through this scholarship, I became involved with the AAF Chattanooga as the student liaison to Lee University. I attended board meetings, monthly luncheons, and special events, which was an invaluable tool for networking.
Because of connections with the AAF Chattanooga, I also participated in two advertising, one of which is currently with the organization. This past spring, I was nominated for the AAF Vance and Betty Lee Stickell internship, a competitive program with places winners at prominent ad agencies throughout the country. I was one of fifteen college students chosen from the entire nation for the internship and was placed at an agency in Dallas, Texas for ten weeks.
Without the AAF Chattanooga's involvement and connections, I'm not sure where I would be now as a senior in college! This organization has been invaluable in my life and I know that the best is yet to come."
